Discover the real man in the raccoon pelt hat, Davy Crockett, the best known unknown figure in American
history. James Boylston, author of the book David Crockett in Congress: The Rise and Fall of the Poor Man's Friend,
will dispel misconceptions and present the true King of the Wild Frontier as a shrewd politician and populist advocate.
The book utillizes period newspapers, congressional records and Crockett's own letters, political circulars and speeches to
uncover the fascinating life of Davy the backwoods frontiersman and David the frontline political friend of the people.
